Americans, and Unitarian Universalists, tend to love the idea of choice, and cherish the right to choose freely. But most choices we make every day don’t involve much thoughtful decision-making. Mostly, we do what we are used to doing…what is normal. And when something feels normal it’s hard to even see the alternative choices, let alone choose something different. But if you had the chance to hit “reset” on some of your “factory settings” and establish new patterns for the future, what would you like your New Normal to include?
Reverend Jennifer Channin is a UU Minister who works for several nonprofits that are trying to build a food system that is better for animals, people and the environment. Her work focuses on leveraging philanthropy for social change. She is also a musician and lives in Pacific Beach with her partner, Aaron.
