The Pursuit of Happiness

This is the only country I know that has the pursuit of happiness in their Declaration of Independence. It is considered an unalienable right but it seems to be a rather difficult state to achieve for many. Our American culture pursues it relentlessly and have built a whole economy around it but is it even possible or desirable or are we going about it the wrong way? How about you? Are you happy? Or do you feel a bit guilty for not being so? Are you an optimist or a pessimist? At our soul’s center what really matters?
