About the Speaker:
Rev. Dr. Andrea Travers is an Interfaith Minister, Restorative Justice Circle Facilitator/Trainer for several non-profits offering programs in Southern California prisons and jails, and a recent recipient of a half million-dollar grant for a post-release reentry program she piloted in San Diego County. This year she coordinated with six persons of color to create a workbook entitled, Recovery from The Lie of Whiteness: Be-Coming Aware to assist white people gain an understanding of the Lie and their part in it. The intent is to shift our awareness of individuals who appear to be the “other” into “I-thou” relationships – identifying common ground and focusing on our mutuality.
