Freedom is a constant struggle: Celebrating and learning from our past

As Unitarian Universalists democracy is a religious necessity. Every voice must be heard. We live in a time where it seems that the very soul of democracy is once again under attack. This will be a service where we remember the Civil Rights movement and Selma with a focus upon Voting Rights. But most of it will be a call to action lest we lose what was won at a very high price. How do we keep hope alive in our times?

About our speaker:

Reverend Lone Jensen Broussard grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark; lived in Baghdad Iraq for seven years; and has served churches in Chicago, Illinois, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Wilmington, North Carolina, Chandler, Arizona, and Birmingham, Alabama before retiring to San Diego where her son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter live. Lone holds a degree in Psychology and a Master of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University as well as a Master of Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological School.
