From a young age Rev. Carolyn could not accept things at face value and swallow them whole. She had to ask why and how? Ultimately, this led her to a deep and lifelong commitment to Unitarian Universalism where she could become both skeptic and believer.

Rev. Dr. Carolyn Owen-Towle was co-minister with her mate, Rev. Dr. Tom Owen-Towle, at First UU Church of San Diego from 1978-2002. During their tenure, the church grew to 1000 members. She has also served as President of UUSC, UUMA and was a candidate for President of the UUA.
