If the ruthless king sets an impossible task, people get killed. Who can pay close enough attention to outsmart him? Does the Beast really want another dead merchant in his rose garden? Why didn’t the other suitors listen to the old woman? And more importantly, what do traditional stories from many cultures tell us about paying attention in our own lives? Aunt Li-Anne will tell us some stories and discuss what we might glean if we pay attention to them.

Li-Anne Rowswell Mufson, wears many hats in her current life, including an actual flowered hat when she tells stories to young kids. She has lived in Vista for 27 years and is an actor, Professional Storyteller, Teaching Artist, and Holistic Health Practitioner/herbalist. Li-Anne has been a member of the Palomar UU Fellowship since 2006. She is a member of the UUnrecorded Divas singing group for more than 10 years, and is occasionally in the choir. Li-Anne has served as Chair, and is still on the membership committee (in charge of ushers, name tags, and greeting.)   She co-chairs the SCRIP fundraising program and has served as a Coming-of-Age Mentor. She also chaired the UU Christian affiliate group (now on indefinite hiatus). During her time at PUUF, Aunt Li-Anne has been on the auction committee, told many stories to our folks of all ages, and generally tries to fill a need wherever she notices one and can find the space in her rich and full life.
