Longtime Summit members Al Mork, Liz McHugh, Nancy Merrill, Don & Barbara Jania-Smith, Margo Mariana, Bekah Milhoan, & Sam Olin will share their perspectives on organizing and volunteering for the Summit Interfaith Shelter this year after a four-year hiatus. They will talk about their experience working with other religious organizations, why they feel it’s important to host the shelter at Summit, why they are committed to doing it, and some of the challenges and joys they experienced. They will touch on lessons they learned this year and ways that the Shelter experience could be improved. Our community bonds are strengthened by hearing about our members’ experiences serving the homeless and other causes Summitarians are passionate about. In addition, there will be a New Member Recognition ceremony.
