Join us for an exploration of how improvisational acting offers unexpected spiritual wisdom. We’ll reflect on improv’s core principles—embracing uncertainty, finding opportunity in the unexpected, and flowing with life’s spontaneous moments—and discover how these practices can enrich our spiritual lives and help us navigate the beautiful, unscripted nature of our human experience.
All participation will be as you are willing and able.
Steve Hohman brings over a decade of professional improvisational acting experience to his presentation. He was a MainStage cast member at The National Comedy Theatre for more than ten years, beginning in 2011, where he also served as an improv instructor and Managing Director. Steve has trained with the prestigious Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles and has performed improv throughout the country, including as far as the Virgin Islands.

As a seasoned teaching artist, Steve has taught improvisational techniques for numerous prestigious arts education organizations throughout Southern California, including Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ Arts Teach program, The Old Globe, Playwrights Project, Junior Theatre San Diego, and All the Arts for All the Kids in Fullerton. He holds Bachelor’s degrees in Theatre Arts and Communications from San Diego State University.

Steve now applies his extensive improv background as a trial consultant, helping attorneys become more effective advocates in service of giving voice to the voiceless. His unique perspective combines deep artistic training with practical application of improvisational principles in high-stakes professional environments.
