This is the only country I know that has the pursuit of happiness in their Declaration of Independence. It is considered an unalienable right but it seems to be a rather difficult state to achieve for many. Our American culture pursues it relentlessly and have built a whole economy around it but is it even possible or desirable or are we going about it the wrong way? How about you? Are you happy? Or do you feel a bit guilty for not being so? Are you an optimist or a pessimist? At our soul’s center what really matters?

Rev. Lone Jensen Broussard grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark; lived in Baghdad Iraq for seven years; and has served churches in Chicago Ill, Portsmouth New Hampshire, Wilmington, North Carolina, Chandler Arizona, and Birmingham, Alabama before retiring to San Diego where her son’s family lives. Rev. Lone holds a degree in Psychology and a Masters of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University as well as a Masters of Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological School. “I still believe after all my years in ministry that Unitarian Universalism holds a real hope for this world. My role as a retired minister is to support and help our ministry grow in whatever ways I can contribute. I consider it an honor and a joy. “
