Summit UU Fellowship Prayer Circle
Purpose:
1. To come together and share “prayers” (poems, writings, lyrics, prayers, etc.) with each other. And in sharing we feel/encourage/stimulate, spiritual connection & growth. To encourage spiritual fulfillment/satisfaction by ministering to each other.
2. The emphasis is on experience vs discussion.
3. The Prayer Circle is open to all members & friends of Summit UU Fellowship.
4. Open to people of traditional and non-traditional beliefs:

Structure:
Meet once monthly on 1st Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Prayer Circle that meets Thursday, November 6th will meet in the Library. This meeting only – due to Auction preparation needing the Sanctuary.
1. Open with chalice lighting.
2. Each brings something to read or recite that she/he feels a spiritual connection with.
3. We will take turns reading/reciting our selections.
4. First person reads/recites. After that, there is a period of silence for contemplation and connection to the piece. Perhaps take notes, but no discussion.
5. Then go to the next person in the circle. Or that person may “pass”.
6. Next person reads their piece followed by another quiet time.
7. So on around the circle. Then go back to anyone who’d “passed” if they wish to share.
8. End with chalice extinguishing.
