From cave time to this day, humans have organized themselves into small or large clusters of communities, came up with therapies to help with their survival, devised and ran social and legal systems to manage their communities, told stories and danced to educate and to entertain themselves, and ensured continuity of their history. And to ground and harmonize their systems, each community conjured a story about their origin, which became their belief system’s bedrock
About our Speaker:
Wanjiru Warama grew up in rural Kenya, East Africa, on a British colonial farm where her parents worked their entire lives. She graduated from Menengai High School in Nakuru town, and Kenya Government Secretarial College in Nairobi. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in business administration from U.S. International University (now Alliant University), studied in Nairobi, Kenya and in San Diego, California.
Wanjiru moved to San Diego in 1984 and worked with The California Newspaper Service Bureau before working in real estate for 25 years. She now concentrates on writing nonfiction biographical books that enlighten, entertain, and show readers that no matter where people start from, they can overcome and thrive. She lives in La Mesa and visits her family and students of Gitura Primary and Secondary Schools in Kenya whenever she can.
