Endowment Trustees Strategic Plan

Mission

The mission of the Endowment Fund Trustees is to independently manage the Endowment Fund in support of Summit’s future.

Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Provide prudent and responsible oversight of the Fund’s management and investments.
  • Provide oversight of Fund distributions.
  • Report to the Board and Congregation the status of the Fund.
  • Educate the congregation about benefits and purpose of the Fund.
  • Represent the Endowment Fund’s interests on the gift acceptance process
  • Conduct systematic review of processes associated with oversight of the Fund.
  • Work in concert with other related committees.

Specific Measurable Goals 2017-2018

  • Clarify entity status (unincorporated corporation vs SUUF umbrella)
  • Review pros/cons of aligning endowment fiscal year to Summit’s fiscal year and make recommendation to Board.
  • Compare Endowment Fund returns with comparable investments opportunities & inform Board of results.
  • Review & revise Endowment Fund policies, processes and procedures, and recommend/implement necessary improvements.
  • Review & revise accounting procedures.

Plus goals for every year:

  • Recommend whether a distribution from property improvement portion of endowment should be recommended and inform Board.
  • Present annual report at spring Congregational Meeting.
  • Cooperate with Planned Giving Committee’s informational activities.

General measurable Goals 2018-2022

  • Recommend whether a distribution from property improvement portion of endowment should be recommended and inform Board.
  • Present annual report at spring Congregational Meeting.
  • Cooperate with Planned Giving Committee’s informational activities.
