Endowment Strategic Plan

Mission

The mission of the Endowment Fund Trustees is to independently manage the Endowment Fund in support of Summit’s future.

Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Report to the Board and Congregation the status of the Fund.
  • Educate the congregation about benefits and purpose of the Fund.
  • Conduct systematic review processes associated with oversight of the Fund.
  • Work in concert with other related committees.
  • Provide prudent and responsible oversight of the Fund’s management and investments.
  • Provide oversight of Fund distributions.
  • Represent the Endowment Fund’s interests on the gift acceptance process.

Specific Measurable Goals 2015

  • Create an annual Endowment Fund Trustee action plan.  (Ongoing/annual.)
  • Provide a presentation on the purpose of the Endowment Fund to educate the congregation.  (Ongoing/annual.)
  • Provide Endowment Fund information on SUUF’s website regarding its current status.  (Ongoing/annual.)
  • Coordinate with Planned Giving Committee’s informational activities.  (Ongoing/annual.)
  • Create and implement internal control plan of ethical management and oversight.
  • Review accounting procedures.
  • Review all Endowment Fund policies, processes and procedures, and recommend/implement necessary improvements.
  • Compare Endowment Fund returns with comparable investments opportunities.

General measurable Goals 2016-2019

  • Create an annual Endowment Fund Trustee action plan.  (Ongoing/annual.)
