We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves, but who exactly are these neighbors? Our social justice principles call us to work for the marginalized and oppressed, but is our love also reserved for them? This sermon goes back to our Christian roots and looks at two parables that both encourage and challenge us as we seek to answer the call of love in a world where that sometimes seems increasingly difficult.

Robin Mitchell is a member of the UU Fellowship of San Dieguito, in Solana Beach, her local Methodist church, and is also a Buddhist practitioner. She is a frequent speaker at her UU Fellowship, drawing on her experiences of other religions to provide insights into our UU faith.
