Colegio La Esperanza

Colegio La Esperanza in Tijuana, Mexico

Colonia Esperanza is a neighborhood where many have no running water, no electricity, no bathrooms. Most of the shanties, scratched out of an old municipal dump, have dirt floors and no windows. It is estimated that 2,000 kids in this area have no place to learn. The intention of the Americas Foundation was to create an inspiring school building that promoted peace and tranquility. Christine Brady, James Hubbell, and countless volunteers have worked to bring into fruition impressive structures of beauty and grace. The school provides an enriching education and brings magic and hope to an area devastated by poverty.

For over ten years, Summit has provided a scholarship to a student in need. Starting last year we have sponsored Frida Gonzalez. Our scholarship for Frida is very important for to the quality of her life and that of her family.
