From Wikipedia: Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that opinions should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or any dogma.  We generally meet in the Salon and hear or view a presentation on a topic of interest followed by a discussion period. The topic is announced in the Newsletter, in Summit’s enews, and on this website’s calendar each month. The topic may be economic, philosophical, psychological or any other unsettled topic that might yield to logic.

Loving Hands Ministry

Do you knit, crochet, quilt, or want to learn? Join us as we create hats for San Diego’s homeless, comfort shawls for Summitarians, blankets for Project Linus, and wash cloths and dishcloths for those entering transitional housing. Join us for the fellowship, too! All men, women, and mature children are invited to participate in this important ministry, even if you are unable to attend the meetings.

The Walden Project

We are happy to report that we have added four new, very highly valued and appreciated members to our work crew for painting, carpentry and plumbing. All have a busy life and/or busy full time jobs but will find hours here and there to contribute to The Walden Project. We have received a request from the greater San Diego community to drive The Walden Project to their location for teaching regarding voluntary simplicity, spiritually grounded activism and green technology. This request is a bit early since we are not ready, but exciting since it speaks to the purpose of The Walden Project.
We NEED YOUR PARTICIPATION. Donate an hour or two of work. The Walden Project thrives on a patchwork of stitched-together good-will, cooperative spirits and helping hands!

Women’s Bridge

Writer’s Workshop
