Getting Involved

Summit offers a variety of ways to participate and become involved in meaningful activities.

A good way to get to know people is to stick around after service and come to the Sunday Cafe  to enjoy some food, coffee, conversation and fellowship.

Also check out our program for kids.  Summit provides many opportunities for Children’s Religious Exploration and fellowship.

Adult Activities

  • Summit’s adult activities include a vibrant book club, freethinkers group, writers’ workshop,  women’s bridge club, groups for meditation and prayer, knitting, tai chi, and more. There’s something for everyone among Summit’s adult activity groups!

Become a Member

  • Membership gives many more ways that you can contribute to the Summit community.

  • For those times when members of the Summit family need extra help, Caring Committee volunteers supplement the minister’s pastoral work by supporting and listening to those in need.

Circle Dinners

  • Circle Dinners are potluck dinners that help to build community. They provide a welcoming and informal environment to get to know other Summitarians by sharing a meal and conversation.

  • Most of the work at Summit is accomplished through committees — small groups of members or friends who work together to accomplish a specific task.  Each committee has a mission, objectives, responsibilities, and goals for the current year.  Committees offer many opportunities to make friends, get involved, and serve our community. Consider joining one of Summit’s wonderful committees!

Covenant Groups

  • Participation in a Covenant Group allows you to engage and connect with others at a deeper level. Groups (8 to 10 members) meet once a month for about 2 hours at a member’s home or at the Summit campus.  Time is spent sharing personal experiences, feelings, or thoughts that come from reflections about a given topic.

Flowers for Sunday Services

  • If you would like to commemorate a personal special occasion or honor a loved one or friend by providing a flower arrangement for a particular Sunday, sign up on the Flower List hanging on the kiosk located in the Greeting Room.  The flowers at our Sunday services always add a soft spirit to the room.  For more information, contact Barbara Jania-Smith.

Helping Out

  • Various groups at Summit need different kinds of help from time to time.  Click on the link above to see what help is needed at this time.

  • Music is an important part of Summit’s UU Fellowship.  There are many different types of musical presentations during Sunday Services and the choir performs twice a month.

Sunday Cafe

  • Summit’s Sunday Cafe takes place in the Salon after service.  Coffee, tea and light refreshments are offered for all to enjoy. This is a great time to get to know others, so stick around after service and enjoy some refreshments, conversation and fellowship!

Supporting Summit

  • Summit Unitarian Universalist Fellowship does real good in the world. Members and friends of the Summit community can help the fellowship to continue its good work by contributing in a variety of ways. Learn more about how you can Support Summit!
